2nd Letter of Complaint to Honda Malaysia

Dear Honda Msia

Referring to my complaint on the brakes in the email below for the vehicle number BJD25 registered to my wife Zuraida Bt. Baharudin, I would like to thank the Global Amity team for rectifying the brakes problem.

However the 2nd second problem raised in the email below is still not solved. They only tightened the belting each time I complaint about the noise.
…“Furthermore, I have also experience some unwelcomed sound from the belting in the engine. I have also complained about it for 3 times and the best they can do is to re-adjust it and also  used the silicone spray which only makes it silence for only a week.” – from earlier email

On 9th Oct 2010, I visited Global Amity for a normal service session. I highlighted the belt noise issue again. FYI, the noise started after I changed the belting as per your service schedule. This time I pointed out that the problem has been going on for more than 6 months and I want a permanent solution not just by tightening it each time I come for servicing as it will only last for a week or two.

After inspecting it, the service personnel claims that item no 12 & 13 (refer to attachment) needs to be changed. This is because it has worn out due to frequent tightening. The issue is :-

1.       I never asked them to tighten it but it was done because the belt is noisy. The solution that they did was to tighten the belting each time I came for servicing. If the ‘new belt’ (changed as per your maintenance schedule) does not make any noise then nothing need to be done. There wasn’t any noise with the original belting when the car came out of the factory. It only started after I changed the belting as per your schedule.

2.       So, I was told that I need to change item 12 & 13 which will cost me RM241.18 due to the frequent tightening which affected both items. Pls bare in mind that the tightening was not instructed by me and it was done because the belt is faulty. So why should I pay Rm241.18 to get it solved since it is not my fault? They can’t even guarantee that changing item 12 & 13 will solve the noise problem. I asked him, “what if the noise reoccurs after changing the item? Will Honda refund me?” The answer was NO. However, I am not willing to pay a single sen as it is not my fault.

FYI, I have also asked the service rep. to confirm the problem before I lodge a report to Honda Msia as I do not want to be instructed to revisit Global Amity again for re-inspection as what I have experienced earlier. He told me that it is confirmed, and I won’t be requested for a re-inspection.

So, with this email I am lodging a formal complaint to Honda Msia. If Honda Msia can’t solve the problem for me, my next step is to email to the news papers and also to lodge a complaint to Tribunal Tuntutan Pengguna Malaysia.

I would like to suggest that Global Amity to accept appointments on Saturdays as many of your customers are not able to commit to appointments on weekdays due to work requirements. I don’t know, maybe you guy may purposely do not want to accept appointments on Saturday so that you do not need to attend to many complaints. Maybe… who knows.. It is true that Saturday mornings are really packed but not after 2.00pm.

Thank you
Fitri
